Rob Walker

Director of Strategic Partnerships

My commitment to serving others has shaped every chapter of my personal and professional life. As a board member at Remix Recovery, I am honored to support a mission that aligns deeply with my values: creating safe, stigma-free spaces where individuals facing mental-health and addiction challenges can begin healing with dignity, compassion, and hope.

My career began in the field of assistive technology, where I worked as an Assistive Technology Professional. In this role, I supported individuals with physical disabilities by providing custom mobility equipment tailored to their unique needs. This work taught me that mobility is more than movement—it is independence, confidence, and the ability to fully participate in life. Helping clients and families navigate these deeply personal decisions strengthened my belief that everyone deserves access to tools and support that enhance their quality of life. That belief continues to guide my work today.

Over the years, I’ve grown increasingly passionate about mental-health advocacy due to personal experiences within my family. I’ve witnessed how emotional and psychological struggles can be just as debilitating as physical limitations—and how often they go unseen. This understanding is what ultimately drew me to Remix Recovery. The organization’s dedication to reducing stigma, expanding access, and fostering judgment-free healing resonated with my desire to serve individuals facing difficult, often isolating challenges. The opportunity to contribute to meaningful change in this space is both humbling and inspiring.

One of the guiding principles in my life is helping people in need. Whether through providing assistive technology, supporting mental-health initiatives, or strengthening community outreach, my focus has always been on creating pathways to independence, stability, and hope. As a board member, I strive to expand awareness of the resources available through Remix Recovery, build meaningful partnerships, and ensure individuals and families know they are not alone.

Beyond my professional work, I hold a lifelong passion for motorcycles. I’ve been an avid rider since childhood, drawn to the freedom, discipline, and clarity that riding provides. My love for motorcycles was so strong that I bought my first street bike at the risk of being kicked out of my house—an experience that taught me about courage, independence, and embracing what brings me joy. That passion has stayed with me throughout my life and continues to influence my approach to resilience and personal growth. Riding has taught me presence, awareness, and the importance of navigating life’s twists with confidence—lessons I bring into my leadership and advocacy work.

Today, I am honored to serve on the board of Remix Recovery, helping advance a mission rooted in compassion and connection. I am committed to empowering individuals on their journey to recovery, expanding access to support, and building a community where everyone feels valued, respected, and hopeful for the future.
