Shanea Makinson

Shanea Makinson grew up in a motorcycle family and has been an active part of the motorcycle community her entire life. With decades of hands-on experience, she has dedicated countless hours to organizing and facilitating events ranging from intimate local gatherings to large-scale public rallies.
From 1997 to 2003, Shanea served as the Coordinator for the Marin City Web Star Program, where she developed and managed a technology education initiative for youth. Under her leadership, the program not only inspired its participants but also helped launch several into careers within the tech industry.
A committed community leader, Shanea has also served six years as a Girl Scout Council Member, organizing events in alignment with Girl Scout values. She spent three years on the PTA—one as Vice President and too as President—during which she orchestrated the “Survivor Meets Tough Mudder Challenge,” an event that brought together approximately 600 children in a day of fun, fitness, and empowerment.
Her leadership extended to SheeMotos – Curves & Corners, where she served as Vice President and provided event and hospitality support. She also acted as “Team Mom” for the Anderson Racing Ministry (ARM), coordinating food and hospitality for race teams across multiple seasons.
Shanea has been deeply involved in the racing careers of her two children, helping build her son’s professional path in MotoAmerica and supporting both children as they competed in dirt biking, road racing, and supermoto championships.
For over 26 years, Shanea has served as the Enterprise Financial Systems Lead Engineer for the County of Marin, overseeing the county’s payroll and financial systems, managing complex IT projects, and leading a team of engineers and technicians.
An entrepreneur since age 16, Shanea is also the founder and owner of Truth Be Told Apparel, a high-quality custom clothing brand that serves clients nationwide, including many in the motorsports industry.
She has contributed to the management and budgeting of numerous nonprofit organizations, including Web Stars, the Girl Scouts, and PTA. Her commitment to mission-driven work is matched by her passion for community, recovery, and inclusion.
Currently, Shanea serves as the Chief Financial Officer of The Remix Racing Project where she combines her financial expertise, community leadership, and lived experience to support the organization’s mission. With a deeply personal connection to the work, she is proud to help lead the fight against stigma surrounding mental health and addiction—bringing both professional discipline and heartfelt advocacy to the role.
