Thank You for a Successful
2nd Annual Remix Recovery Resource Fair:
“Mental Health in a Cultural Context”
Mental illness disproportionately impacts minority cultures due to differences in beliefs about illnesses, lack of access to resources, and barriers such as stigma and socioeconomic status (SES). Our hope was this event would help eliminate barriers and highlight ways we can serve minority groups better and build awareness within our community of accessible resources. Our goal was to raise awareness about the intersectionality between mental health and culture, bringing together organizations to share with the community and network with each other. We wanted to create a warm, welcoming environment for all to enjoy and we are SO happy to share we were successful!
